In its third iteration, we believe the best was saved til last! The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah partnership with Garden Grown Gin has continued as we have taken inspiration from the Blue Mountains and heroed the eucalyptus pulverulenta, a clear stand out in the many botanicals that could have been plucked and harvested.
Capturing the Blue Mountains in a gin was the challenge set for the Garden Grown team. Led by award winning distiller Phillip Moore, they have definitely created something special in this limited release. Whilst there was a plethora of botanicals to choose from at the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah, it was a process of exploration to find the perfect blend.
“In creating a gin in homage to the Blue Mountains and the Garden, there was one botanical I was immediately drawn to, Eucalyptus pulverulenta, or “Baby Blue” as some people call it.
It brings fresh, cooling qualities to the gin much like the mountains themselves. It really has created a gin as magical as the place itself”, said Phillip Moore.
Mixing eucalyptus with the superb recipe of juniper, a little Valencia Orange, Liquorice root, and Angelica for balance has led to this smooth, earthy, yet complex palate.
Blue Mountains Grown Gin is beautifully packaged in a stunning hand crafted blue glass bottle. A striking design that demands attention against the earthy tones of the natural landscape. The third bottle to add to your collection, this is a must have for all gin aficionados and novices alike.
Hundreds of plants at the Garden were destroyed by bushfires earlier this year and profits from this gin help support the Garden’s horticultural and science staff as they rebuild and restore the crucial Living Collection.
