Miguel Garcia commenced work at the Daniel Solander Library
in 1995 first as a Library Technician and then as Librarian in 2015. He works alongside staff botanists and horticulturalists supplying scientific, horticultural and historic information in support of research and special projects. He has also worked with visiting scientists, professional artists, authors, historians and documentary film makers assisting them and giving them access to the wealth of resources held in the Daniel Solander Library.
"I'm interested in science and history and the conjunction of these disciplines within the context of the Royal Botanic Gardens and its place within Sydney culture."
Miguel has written articles and book chapters on the history of the Gardens and curated exhibitions on a diverse number of related subjects including Herbal books, botanical art and illustration and the history of the Gardens.
