The beauty of Australian birdlife has been captured in an exhibition, 'Creates of Flight and the Night', now on display at The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden by acclaimed photographer, David Ongley.
The series - and a red fox - represents some of the bird life found at The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, and around Australia, including the purple-crowned fairy wren, the sooty owl, and the iconic kookaburra.
Ongley is a well-known wildlife photographer specialising in bird photography. His love of birds was noticed by his family from an early age. As a boy, David often explored the bush searching for birds.
All artwork in the 'Creatures of Flight and the Night' exhibition feature frames hand-crafted by Ongley from reclaimed timber from furniture and building material. The artist has worked with the natural timber, enhanced by the Danish oil and protected by wax, to create an artwork framing the artwork.
The prints in this exhibition were produced on Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl paper (310 gms) by an Epson Stylus 9900 printer using Epson Ultrachrome HDR ink.
